2015 Resolutions

I have quite a few resolutions for 2015. My biggest one is to just let things be. I cannot control everything. While I have a very, very hard time with the phrases 'things will happen when they're supposed to' or 'everything happens for a reason' I am going to try my hardest to be ok with how things are in the present time.

Like most years since I've hit adulthood, I've wanted to lose weight with each new year. This year I have some extra motivation because we're doing a competition at work for 'biggest loser.' I've lost weight in the past (only to gain it back!), but I'm hoping that in 2015 I'll be able to establish long-lasting healthy habits. Benn is going to be there right next to me losing weight and getting all around healthier. We want our kids to have healthy role models. We've established healthy habits in the boys, but soon enough they're going to realize mommy and daddy aren't all that healthy.

I have 2 photography related resolutions this year. I attempted a p365 last year and made it to around day 223. It was HARD! Especially because I was trying my best to always use my 'big' camera. And I'm never 100% happy with the photos I take, and I would take a lot in search of the perfect shot. I want to let go of that vision of the perfect image. I want to establish my style of photography. I know what I like, but I tend to look at my images from another person's point of view and end up finding flaws, ect... Anyway, onto the resolutions. #1 is to do a p52- I will take (hopefully) 3 images per week. One of each boy and then one with both boys. I'm hoping this will take away some of the stress that last year's p365 caused. #2 is a p365, but with my phone and I'll be posting all images to instagram. The instagram p365 is definitely doable because I take at least 1 picture with my phone per day, if not many. I participate in a group that photographer Sarah Cornish (My Four Hens Photography) runs. She has done a p52 challenge for the past few years and is starting the p365 for instagram this year. It's definitely motivating and inspiring to be apart of these groups! If anyone wants to join, there's groups on facebook and information on her website.
